The Right To Home School
This article drew my attention this morning. Recently I know of one in our own Nation of Canada who has gone through a battle with the secular system in her right to home school her child. We are admonished in the Word of God to train up our children in the way they should go. That way is God’s way. Yet, we put our children in a secular school and wonder why they come out at the end of that schooling tainted by the world.
I am not saying home schooling is for everyone but there are many good home school programs and children have graduated from these programs with more skills to help them in this world than that which they received in the secular system. Do…we want our children taught things that are contrary to the Word of God. Of course not! I do recall in high school myself having a history class many times a week that taught us evolution and it was taught in depth. Thankfully it did not sink in, perhaps because I had a foundation of at least going to Sunday school till I was twelve.
We have seen God taken out of our schools, school shootings and many lives destroyed. It is with sadness we remember the shootings at Columbine High School and only a week later one in Tabor, Alberta with the loss of precious young lives.
The secular system who has removed prayer from the schools and does not want the Lord mentioned has had sadly lacked the ability to protect our children and instil good values into them. We are told in the Word of God, woe to those that call evil good and good evil. Plainly there are Christian parents who do NOT want their children tainted by an ungodly world system. As parents we are responsible before the Lord to train up our children in the way they should go and that did not say to turn them over to the government to do our job.
So…it is with this thought that we are posting this article about the battle in Sweden that a family is having in the right to home school. Pray for them and let us be praying fervently for our children daily that the Lord keeps His hand on their lives for His glory.
Prayerfully we need to ask our Heavenly Father what He wants for our children and whatsoever He says to you do it with all your heart!

(PURCELLVILLE, VA)—Amid increasing persecution in Sweden, beleaguered homeschool families look to the United States for help.
One homeschool family, the Himmelstrands, chose to homeschool their three children for years before they were denied permission from their municipality in 2008. Now the Himmelstrands face fines in excess of $26,000 (US).
Jonas Himmelstrand, president of the Swedish Association for Home Education, appealed yesterday to the supporters in the United States and around the world, “We ask our fellow home educators to email the Swedish authorities on a mass scale about the situation in Sweden. We want to let Swedish officials know that their actions have drawn international attention. Although it is likely that there are fewer than 100 homeschoolers in the country of 9 million, Jonas says the persecution “is against all international conventions on human rights.”
Homeschoolers in the United States have started to respond. The Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) and the Alliance Defense Fund (ADF) have filed a brief in a Swedish appellate court on behalf of the family. Michael Donnelly, HSLDA’s Director of International Relations, explains the gravity of the Swedish, “Homeschooling is legal in the United States and in many other countries only after decades of tumultuous legislative and legal conflicts. Swedish families are now fighting for their basic rights and are looking for support from other freedom lovers abroad. I am asking all of my fellow citizens to join me in supporting the Himmelstrands and other families in Sweden who want to homeschool.”

World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland
Prime Minister Harper attended the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland this past week. He has an huge responsibility upon his shoulders and the burden is not an easy one. Let us pray and intercede for him to have godly wisdom in the decisions he must make and also realize that with his majority government comes an awesome responsibility to the Canadian people.
It was mentioned at the meetings that there would be eventual changes coming to the Canadian Pension Act. Many are concerned that the age of receipt of one’s old age pension could be changed from sixty-five to sixty seven of age and this would seriously and adversely affect many lives.
There are those who are already on lesser income where one partner in a marriage has already retired and husbands of almost seventy are still have to work at some job to make ends meet. Their wives are in some cases not yet receiving any pension due to being younger and yet unable to work. Some of those have no income of their own. These people will be seriously affected by an adverse change to the Canadian Pension Act in having to work more years before they can finally retire. There are definitely other cuts to wasteful spending that the government can put into place first.
I spoke to one woman only yesterday who had to pay additional income tax at tax time when she only receives a small pension. Another employee of the Government of Canada has just found out that the amount they had previously planned on at retirement is now altered and they are now wondering how they will manage to live.
Should seniors in their old age who have paid taxes all their lives and even fought in wars have to be concerned and struggle when they need to retire with peace and dignity? Even going into a senior’s residence or retirement home is far beyond the means of many. So…what do we do to protect Canada’s seniors.
How does the Lord see our nation in the care of its seniors?. How do you see it? We need to keep up praying for those in authority over us, that have received their mandate from the Canadian people. In the end it is because of you the Canadian people that they were elected with a majority Government. The scripture says that God puts in leaders and he removes them. There is a need to govern with a Godly hand, seeking the Lord in their decision making.
Canada we have our work cut out for us. It is our responsibility as believers in the Lord Jesus Christ to seek the Lord and pray for our government as they lead our nation in this twenty-first century. Pray for our seniors that they will be treated fairly and receive a just return for that which they have sown into this nation. My own Dad, now deceased was a Canadian Military Officer and WWII Veteran. They did not shrink from their responsibility but ran toward their duty as Canadians to protect this nation. Let us do the same and do battle in our prayer closets for the decisions made in any change in the Canadian Pension Act.
Let us pray that He (Jesus) will have dominion from sea to sea and from the rivers to the end of the earth. The Lord has His eye on Canada and has divinely placed those in Canada who are a part of His Apostolic government in the body of Christ and we must not be silent but intercede, and speak the mind and heart of the Father in this hour. Continue to pray and seek His face that Canada might repent and find favor in the eyes of the Lord.

WORD OF THE LORD FOR CANADA

This morning as I read the prophetic insight (An Unconventional Year put out by Mary Lindow with a Word in it for Canada and our need to respond with a heart of love (my wording) toward our Native people it spoke to my heart. After reading the prophetic insight this is what the Lord spoke to My heart.
Canada we so need to respond with the Fathers heart toward our Native people. They are to be loved and NOT despised. Father God is looking at our heart Canada and He is not going to tolerate our turning our back on these that He loves, paid the price and died for.
There are leaders in the body of Christ coming out of the First Nations People, and many more that Father God does not want lost but used for His Kingdom Purposes. Canada now is the time for you to arise.
Now is the time for you to wake up and God is calling His intercessors as we have heard by the Holy Spirit through Mary Lindow.
Canada it is time to wake up to your prophetic destiny first in your own nation and then to the Nations of the earth. Arise, watch and pray and see what Father God would have you do and how He would have you to respond to this Word. Watchmen on the wall, arise, wake up and pray for Canada, for the leadership that they might have a heart turned to the Father in this hour. Pray for Prime Minister Harper that He would humble His heart before the Lord and that God would use Him. Pray that the division in the government would be brought down and that there would come a working together for God’s purposes.
Canada I have called you to stand on guard for your nation and to love Israel and pray for the nations of the earth. Even to go to the places I send you. It is time Canada for you to arise for it can be your finest hour if you walk in obedience to the Spirit of God. The Lord is talking and He is saying that the choice is yours and if you will walk in the Word of The Lord then you will have the blessing of the Lord. Canada I am calling you to repentance a deep repentance for the way you have treated the first nations people.
Continue to pray that there will be truth and unity between the French and English and that there will be a united heart of love for those that come to Canada because they want a new way of life. Pray and include those that will come to your nation that they might become children of the Lord and learn My ways for they have been called also from the four corners of the earth and you do not have a monopoly on salvation. I am willing that all would be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth.
Canada, intercessors, men and women of God in leadership you have your work cut out for you. Do not delay but come before the throne of God and petition me on their behalf. I am calling Canada to be a Nation of prayer. I am calling you to seek me and put aside the hidden things of dishonesty. I am calling My church to love one another and to speak the truth in love. Never sacrifice the truth of My Word for unity for it will cost you dearly but pray for unity and pray that the truth of My Word will shine as a bright light within your Nation. Deep is calling unto deep and there are those that this word will touch.
There are those that will hear and this is a Word for those that are willing to have their hearts pierced afresh by the Spirit of God. Canada reach out to Me, Canada, cry out what must I do to be saved and I will save you. Love one another for this is my commandment and by the love that you show one to another men will know that you are My disciples. The Lord has spoken, now live it and do it and respond to the Spirit of God that is calling men everywhere, north south east and west to repentance. See what I will do with the Nation that walks with a right spirit before Me.
